CYO Volleyball advances to the playoffs!

SJS sixth and seventh-grade volleyball teams have both qualified for the playoffs this year.  

 

Only if you win - do you continue on to the next round.

SJS Playoff schedule this weekend:

Sunday, April 22,1:00pm, seventh graders at St. Joseph Seattle, 732 18th Ave E Seattle, WA 98112 

Sunday, April 22,3:00pm, sixth-graders at St Luke, 322 N 175th St. Shoreline, WA 98133

 

The drive from St. Joseph Seattle to St. Luke is 20 min roughly - so you can attend both games and cheer on the school!! 

This is quite an accomplishment for both teams, especially seventh grade, who is in the higher division since they won the championship last year!

Come out and support your fellow SJS students and friends this weekend!! GO EAGLES!!

 

The St. Joseph School Father-Daughter Sock Hop is tomorrow, Friday, April 20!

If you signed up, we’ll have your name(s) at the door to sign in! No tickets necessary… just wear your dancing shoes and be ready to rock around the clock! 

 

Date: Friday, April 20,2018

Time: 6:30-9:00pm

Place: St. Joseph Church Hall, Issaquah Campus

This night will be filled with dancing, dinner, activities, pictures and more to ensure a night of fun, laughter and great memories! 

Young ladies, feel free to dress up in a 50’s theme or some nice church clothes.

St. Joseph Band Parent Appreciation Concert

Everyone is invited to our St. Joseph Band Parent Appreciation Concert that will take place on Tuesday, April 24,from 8:45-9:30am.

Come out for a big musical “thank you” on Tuesday morning!  Beginning and Advanced Bands will each be playing songs demonstrating new concepts as well as joining together to play an adventure piece called Dragon Slayer!  Coffee and doughnuts will be provided for parents that attend!  We are looking forward to sharing our music with you! If you can’t make this date, we look forward to sharing our music with you at the Spring Concert on May 15,6:30pm at MQP.

 

April Reading Connection Newsletter coming home today! 

For families of K-5 students, please find the Reading Connections newsletter in today's Thursday folders.  These "Tips for Reading Success" have valuable information, fun games, insightful writing and reading activities, and great book picks.  Check them out to spring into literacy!

 

Middle School Summer Reading Camp at St. Joseph in Snoqualmie is Back for Summer 2018! – Register by May 15, 2018 and Receive a $50.00 Discount Per Session!

Register now for Reading Camp at SJS in July!  Mrs. Brown and Mrs. White are offering sessions for current 5, 6, 7 and 8 grade students. Each camp session is a week-long morning or afternoon focused on a specific novel. Camp sessions include reading, writing, enrichment activities and snacks. Summer reading sessions DO COUNTtoward student’s middle school summer reading requirement.  Please click here for descriptions of camp sessions and registration materials. WALK-A-THON

What a great start! 

Hats off to all of the students who have raised at least $50 each for our “God Colors our World” Walkathon! 

We have set a goal of each student raising $200 in pledges to help fill the gap between tuition costs and the actual cost to educate our students. 

Stay tuned for more information about earning prizes, including the Apple iPad, the $200 Bellevue Collection gift card, $360 Great Wolf Lodge gift card and the ultra-popular customized Nike Sneakers! 

Keep soliciting more pledges and remember, the class that raises the most money wins a Molly Moon Ice Cream Sundae Party!

Scholastic Book Fair volunteers needed for Snoqualmie Campus

The Issaquah position has been filled and we are now looking for Scholastic Book Fair chairs for next fall on the Snoqualmie Campus. 

We will offer spring training for this position.

Parents Club Opportunity!

Want to get a jump on volunteer hours for the 2018-19 school year?  Want to be more involved with the school and help to provide a great environment for all of our students?  Then the Parents' Club Executive Board needs you.

At St. Joseph School the safety of our students, mind and body, is important to all of us. In order to volunteer in any capacity that involves students such as classroom volunteers, coaches, scout leaders, or field trip volunteers, volunteers must meet the following requirements:

 

RETURNING VOLUNTEERS: 

●  Go online at virtusonline.org,fill out and pass a Volunteer Background Check every 3 years. Complete associated on-line class.

●  Review the Volunteer Handbookyearly

●  Sign a Confidentiality Pledgeyearly (last page of the Volunteer Handbook)

 

NEW VOLUNTEERS: 

           ●  Attend a volunteer training at St. Joseph School. Scheduled for just prior to either campus’ Back to School Night.

           ●  Sign a Confidentiality Pledge yearly (last page of the Volunteer Handbook), 

           ●  Go online at virtusonline.orgto request and pass a Volunteer Background Check.

           ●  Attend a free, 3-hour Safe Environment training program “Protecting God’s Children” for Adults 
               held in locations throughout the Seattle Archdiocese. (Register for classes atwww.virtusonline.org)

           ●  Send a copy of your certificate of completion to Roxane Barkley in the school office.
