Christmas Concert

Tuesday, December 12 at 6:30pm will be the Saint Joseph School Christmas Concert at Mary, Queen of Peace Parish in Sammamish.

“Celebrate the Coming of the King” and join us at our annual St. Joseph School Christmas Concert.   Enjoy performances by our kindergarten through fourth grade students, fifth grade band students, as well as the Advanced Band and Liturgy Choir students in a concert full of the joy of the Christmas Season!  The children have been working hard to make this a very special evening of “Caroling, Caroling”. The concert begins at 6:30pm.  Doors will open at 6:15pm and the students are to sit with their teachers.  Please do not drop off children before this time as there will be no supervision.

All Fifth Grade Band and Advanced Band members please arrive at 6:00pm for tuning and warm ups in the church sanctuary.  All Liturgy Choir members meet in the Chapel at 6:00pm for warm ups.

Please remember that this is a mandatory event for all K-5 students and Band and Choir students.

Advent Giving now – December 13

St. Joseph School will be supporting local charities again this Advent season. Please see the fliers that went home in last Thursday’s Folders for information on specific items being collected.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Pajama Day on Both Campuses!

To celebrate our upcoming Christmas break, next Friday, December 15, will be Pajama Day on both campuses. Snuggle up nice and warm in your pajamas, and remember, you will be having recess and PE, so be sure to wear gym shoes and a coat. Your pajamas must be dress code appropriate.

Student Learning Expectations

At the Snoqualmie Campus, we acknowledge students who show traits of our Student Learning Expectations (SLEs) with Eagle tickets. The SLEs are a reflection of our Catholic Identity and help to remind us of our values, traditions and teachings. These students are acknowledged each Friday morning, after prayer, in the gym.   The last Friday of each month four Eagle tickets are randomly drawn for winners of a free dress pass.  The November winners of an Eagle ticket free dress pass were:

Spiritually Active Catholic:  Faith E.

A Person of Character:  Emily S.

A Life Long Learner:  Olivia R.

A Socially Responsible Citizen:  Daniel M.

Family Vacations - SJS Handbook

Parents are asked to avoid deviating from the school calendar or daily instructional schedule for the convenience of family vacations. Parents should not plan appointments or vacations during the time students are taking standardized tests. Unscheduled days off from school for family vacations cause students to miss valuable instruction for which teachers are unable to provide a special studies program. Assignments will not be given in anticipation of the vacation, and in addition teachers are not required to give make-up tests or assignments for absences due to vacation. Absences due to family vacation are not considered excused.

Winter Weather Readiness

As the weather outside turns stormy, keep up‐to‐date on any potential school closures. Check the www.flashalert.net  website or better yet, subscribe today and an email will be sent directly to you as soon as a message is posted.
