Please Return Library Books by Tomorrow

All library books need to be returned by June 2.  Fee notices will go out once the “books” have been reconciled.  Thank you for checking around the house to find any that may have been missed.

Girl Scout Food Drive

Seventh grade Girl Scout troop 41243 will be hosting a food drive for the Fall City Community Food Panty helping to feed children through the summer that normally would get meal assistance through their schools. They will be selling filled bags for $10 each at the Farmhouse Market. They also are looking for donations of cereal, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, pasta, mac and cheese, soup and fruit. The food drive will take place Saturday, June 3, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at the Farmhouse Market, 33521 Redmond-Fall City Rd SE, Fall City.

SJS Library News

Throughout the year, the SJS Library has worked to collect enough great books to put together our second annual “Summer Reading Book Giveaway”—this year to also include the Snoqualmie campus classes! To encourage summer reading, the Library will be hosting two events.  On June 8, the K- 3 grade classes at the Issaquah campus will be attending a special “Summer Reading Book Giveaway” party.   On the Snoqualmie campus, books will be distributed to the classrooms by a personal visit from Mrs. Hayden.  During both celebrations, each student will be invited to select a reading book of his or her choice, and grade level, to take home to kick-start their summer reading!  Along with their book, the students will also receive a special SJS Reading Tracker bookmark.  Students who use this simple punch-card style bookmark throughout the summer to track their reading, may bring it in to either campus of the SJS Library in September 2017 to claim a free dress pass!  We thank each and every student for another great year at the Library, and wish you a fun, reading-filled summer!

New Safe Environment information:

The archdiocese has made substantial changes to the Safe Environment program last year and it has been working out the glitches over the year. The archdiocese still requires a valid background check every three years, a 3 hour in-person class, and every three years, an on-line course.  The school also requires in-person attendance at a class conducted at school and a signed Confidentiality Form. The school form is on our website.

All background checks and on-line classes go through www.virtusonline.org.  If you have been a volunteer anywhere in the archdiocese previously, you will be in the system. Please contact Roxane Barkley at office@sjsissaquah.org if you need help navigating the system.
