From Mrs. Olund

Dear St. Joseph Parents, The approaching of summer vacation is such an exciting time and lots of smiles and can be found in the St. Joseph School classrooms. With the end of the year, I'd like to let all of you know that I will not be returning to St. Joseph's School in the fall. As I leave the school I think back to on the wonderful 23 years that I've had here. It has been an amazing journey that included lots of challenges and many good times along the way. I have seen so many students go from little 3 year olds to successful college graduates who have launched successful careers. I give many thanks to the dedicated teachers and parents who have made this special school a great place to be. I wish good things for St. Joseph's as it continues to provide an awesome community that instills in our students a love for learning, a sense of joyful service and prayerful, just hearts. May peace be with all of you, Jackie Olund.

From Mrs. Waldo

Dear Families, I want to thank you for the opportunity to teach your children for the past 16 years. I’ve so enjoyed being a part of their learning journey and their lives. I also appreciate the relationship I have developed with the parents. I will not be returning to St. Joseph’s next school year, but will continue to follow my passion for teaching children to read in the form of tutoring. I will miss teaching your children dearly and will also miss the St. Joseph’s community. You will always remain in my heart. Blessings, Teresa Waldo.

Mrs. Totten

We wish to thank Mrs. Totten for her 12 years of service to St. Joseph School.  She started at SJS when her son was in our middle school.  He is now off to graduate school and getting married this summer!  Mrs. Totten’s early morning commitment to helping students in math and science over the years has been appreciated by students and parents alike.  Her March Madness tradition will continue on next year! We wish Mrs. Totten well as she goes forward in her future plans.

The archdiocese still requires a valid background check every three years, a 3 hour in-person class, and every three years, an on-line course.  The school also requires in-person attendance at a class conducted at school and a signed Confidentiality Form. The school form is on our website.

All background checks and on-line classes go through www.virtusonline.org.  If you have been a volunteer anywhere in the archdiocese previously, you will be in the system. Please contact Roxane Barkley at office@sjsissaquah.org if you need help navigating the system.
