Stations of the Cross - tomorrow
The third grade class will be presenting the Stations of the Cross, tomorrow, Good Friday, March 30 at 10:45am at SJC in Issaquah. We invite you to join us for this beautiful devotion commemorating Jesus’ last day on earth as a man. Half day dismissal will be silent at 11:50am.
Follow Jesus in His passion during a special presentation of the Stations of the Cross by students of the SJS seventh and eighth grade classes tomorrow, Good Friday, March 30 at 10:00am at OLOS in Snoqualmie. Text and scenes are from We Were There, based on John Paul II’s The Way of the Cross. This presentation has been a long standing tradition with our students and we hope you will join us.
Half day dismissal will be silent at 11:30am.

Middle School Summer Reading Camp at St. Joseph in Snoqualmie is Back for Summer 2018! – Register by May 15, 2018 and Receive a $50.00 Discount Per Session!
Register now for Reading Camp at SJS in July! Mrs. Brown and Mrs. White are offering sessions for current 5, 6, 7 and 8 grade students. Each camp session is a week-long morning or afternoon focused on a specific novel. Camp sessions include reading, writing, enrichment activities and snacks. Summer reading sessions DO COUNT toward student’s middle school summer reading requirement. Please click here for descriptions of camp sessions and registration materials. Yearbook pictures needed
The yearbook committee is hard at work creating a book full of memories from the school year and we are looking for yearbook pictures! Do you have pictures from last fall? Do you have pictures from soccer, basketball, or cross country?
It is time to get your April Fitness Calendars! Please turn in your March calendar as soon as possible, and get the April calendar. Calendars are available by signing on to the school website at sjsissaquah.org. Go to Community, For Parents and Students, Teacher websites, find Mrs. Hughes and Fitness Calendars. Holy Names Cougar Soccer Camp
July 16 - July 20, 2018
Grades 4, 5, 6 - 9:00am - 11:00am, $150.00

Join members of the HNA couching staff, varsity team players, and HNA soccer alumnae this summer at Cougar Soccer Camp. Camp is open to any young woman entering grades 4-8 and to any student starting grade 9 at Holy Names in the Fall of 2018. Cougar Soccer Camp is designed to create a positive environment, one that will encourage players to be imaginative and creative players, without undue pressure. The camps will provide training in technical skills, tactical patterns of play, speed and agility training, positional awareness, and camp will also include many small-sided games. This leadership opportunity is specifically designed to help develop and foster the leadership skills of young women entering grades 7 and 8 and any student starting grade 9 at Holy Names in the Fall of 2018. Participants will gain valuable information about how to lead large groups or small groups, as well as tips and procedures for event planning, advertising, fundraising, and much more. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Parents Club Opportunity!
Want to get a jump on volunteer hours for the 2018-19 school year? Want to be more involved with the school and help to provide a great environment for all of our students? Then the Parents' Club Executive Board needs you.

Scholastic Book Fair volunteers needed
We are looking for 2 people to run the Scholastic Book Fair next fall. Ideally, we will have one parent in Snoqualmie, and one in Issaquah. We will offer spring training for this position.

Mandatory Volunteer Requirements:
At St. Joseph School the safety of our students, mind and body, is important to all of us. In order to volunteer in any capacity that involves students such as classroom volunteers, coaches, scout leaders, or field trip volunteers, volunteers must meet the following requirements:
● Go online at virtusonline.org, fill out and pass a Volunteer Background Check every 3 years. Complete associated on-line class.
● Review the Volunteer Handbook yearly
● Sign a Confidentiality Pledge yearly (last page of the Volunteer Handbook)
● Attend a volunteer training at St. Joseph School. Scheduled for just prior to either campus’ Back to School Night.
● Sign a Confidentiality Pledge yearly (last page of the Volunteer Handbook),
● Go online at virtusonline.org to request and pass a Volunteer Background Check.
● Attend a free, 3-hour Safe Environment training program “Protecting God’s Children” for Adults
held in locations throughout the Seattle Archdiocese. (Register for classes at www.virtusonline.org)
● Send a copy of your certificate of completion to Roxane Barkley in the school office.
