Student Learning Expectations

Students at St. Joseph School Snoqualmie Campus are familiar with our Student Learning Expectations. The SLEs are a reflection of our Catholic Identity and help to remind us of our values, traditions and teachings.   Each Friday morning students who have received an SLE acknowledgement ticket from a teacher during the week are recognized during Morning Prayer in the gym. The last Friday of each month we have a drawing from all of the SLE tickets and the four winners receive a free dress pass. The winners for September’s drawing were: Life long learner: Sam N., Spiritually Active Catholic: Anna R., Person of Character:  Lucas K., Socially Responsible Citizen: Christian M.

Annual Pet Food Drive – October 3–14

It’s time for our First Graders to host the Seattle Humane Society Pet Food Drive again this year. It began on Monday, October 3 and will conclude on Friday, October 14. Donations of organically based pet foods are most appreciated. The Pet Food Bank serves the elderly and low income people that need our help to keep their pets.  Needed items include pet food, supplies, cat litter, and treats.  Bring any items you care to donate to your classroom and we will see that they are delivered

           ●  Go online at http://www.virtusonline.org to request and pass a Volunteer Background Check.

           ●  Send a copy of your certificate of completion to Roxane Barkley in the school office at office@sjsissaquah.org

●  Go online at www.virtusonline.org, fill out and pass a Volunteer Background Check every 3 years. Complete associated on-line class.

New Safe Environment information:

The archdiocese has made substantial changes to the Safe Environment program last year and it has been working out the glitches over the year. The archdiocese still requires a valid background check every three years, a 3 hour in-person class, and every three years, an on-line course.  The school also requires in-person attendance at a class conducted at school and a signed Confidentiality Form. The school form is on our website.

All background checks and on-line classes go through www.virtusonline.org.  If you have been a volunteer anywhere in the archdiocese previously, you will be in the system. Please contact Roxane Barkley at office@sjsissaquah.org if you need help navigating the system.
