AUCTION NEWS

As we kick off the new school year, we are also kicking off the preparations for another great SJS auction!   The auction committee is working hard to provide an exciting evening for all.  Please mark your calendars for the 2017 auction on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at The Westin Bellevue – a fantastic venue for this fun evening of fellowship and fundraising.

Auction Sponsorship and Procurement begins today!

In your Thursday folder you will find a packet with more details.  Please remember families are required to procure at least $200 in donations prior to the auction.  The procurement deadline is November 11, 2016.  Please contact the auction chairs, Stephanie Champion and Ann-Marie Karh, if you would like to help in either one of these areas.  This would be a great opportunity to start your volunteer hours for the year and help procure some great items for the auction.

If you would like to help in any way with the auction, please reach out to our chairs.  Please email Stephanie at carrsteph@hotmail.com or Ann-Marie at annkarh@live.com.  For more information, please visit the auction website at www.sjsissaquah.org/auction.

FUNDRAISING

What is Scrip?

Scrip is a term that means "substitute money". When you purchase Scrip, you are purchasing prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You pay the face value of the Scrip card & the school receives the “rebate” back. For example, each time you purchase a QFC/Fred Meyer gift/cash card, 5% of the purchase price will be rebated to the school/parish.

Why buy Scrip?

This Cash Cards program is a simple fundraiser, because it does not require families to spend additional personal funds. This Scrip/Gift card program only requires families to adjust their shopping habits, slightly, by allowing families to purchase Cash Cards prior to shopping at their favorite stores.  Click here for more information and to see the graph of an example of how much money our school can raise with just one family's participation.

How Can I Participate?

Grab & Go   ScriptoGoOrderForm2016

Our top sellers include QFC/Fred Meyer (5%), Safeway (4%), Starbucks (7%) & Target (2%), Amazon (3%) PCC (5%). Consider picking one Cash Card weekly.

These cards & many more can be purchased during our SJS Cash Cards Sale times in Issaquah or Snoqualmie. See the bottom of the e-news for the dates & times for SJS Cash Cards Sales.

Online Ordering shopwithscrip.com

New Safe Environment information:

The archdiocese has made substantial changes to the Safe Environment program last year and it has been working out the glitches over the year. The archdiocese still requires a valid background check every three years, a 3 hour in-person class, and every three years, an on-line course.  The school also requires in-person attendance at a class conducted at school and a signed Confidentiality Form. The school form is on our website.

All background checks and on-line classes go through www.virtusonline.org.  If you have been a volunteer anywhere in the archdiocese previously, you will be in the system. Please contact Roxane Barkley at office@sjsissaquah.org if you need help navigating the system.
