Shine On! Gala Auction Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why should I go to Shine On! St. Joseph School 25th Anniversary Gala Auction on March 2?
A: Our Auction night is a special time for you to visit with parents of your student’s classmates as well as their teachers! It’s the perfect opportunity to really experience the amazing community we share at St. Joseph’s School.
You’ll also have the chance to bid on some pretty incredible packages and experiences.

Q: How do I RSVP/Register for the Shine On! Auction?
Hopefully you’ve received a paper invitation in a silver envelope! If you still need one, or you have grandparents or friends you’d like us to send an invitation to, please email your auction team: development@sjsissaquah.org 

Please RSVP by February 18th online: https://sjsissaquah.org/giving/auction-rsvp.Your $100 Auction ticket includes passed champagne, wine and appetizers starting at 5:00pm, a plated gourmet dinner with your choice of entrée and red and white wine or non-alcoholic choices and lots of sparkling surprises!

Q: Wait, where is the hotel exactly?
A: The name of the hotel is Seattle Marriott, Bellevue! Even though Seattle is in the name, the hotel is actually in downtown Bellevue: 200 110th Avenue Northeast, Bellevue.

Q: What is the deal with parking at the Seattle Marriott, Bellevue?
A: We are hosting valet parking this year at the hotel, in hopes of giving you, our guests, a stress free experience! Simply Valet park your car at the hotel. If you prefer to self park, you can park your own car at no charge in the old Bellevue Toys r Us parking lot, which is just down the street from the Seattle Marriott, Bellevue.

Q: Now the most important question: What is the dress code for the 25th Anniversary Gala Auction?
A: We’ll be wearing cocktail attire with a little extra sparkle to honor this silver 25th anniversary in style!

Q: Do we need to get to the auction right when it starts, or can we come later?
A: If you are able, we suggest arriving when the door open at 5:00pm. We are hosting passed appetizers and passed champagne and wine from 5:00pm-6:00pm during the Silent Auction and Almost Live Auction. Early birds will also get the first look and chance to bid on the Class Projects, Almost Live Items and Silent Items!

Q: I heard the whole school is involved in the 25th Anniversary Tea Towels! Wow! What are these?
A: These custom tea towels are a heart-led, all-school project covered with self portraits of every student in St. Joseph School’s Issaquah and Snoqualmie campuses! You’ll smile every time you dry dishes with this commemorative
25th Anniversary keepsake! Priced at just $15 each, you can purchase as many as you like during the silent auction!

Q: How do I bid on class projects at the Auction this year?
A: This year we will have class projects available in the Almost Live/Silent Auction area!  You can start writing your bids on class projects during the hosted champagne and wine reception with passed appetizers right at 5:00pm.

During the live auction the auctioneer will continue the bidding, allowing for a “last look” and final bidding until each class project is sold. Don’t miss out on these one of a kind works of art that capture this moment in your child’s life
at St. Joseph School! 

Q: What are the Teacher Experiences in the Silent Auction?
A: These are outings, parties and experiences that you can bid on for your child to enjoy with their St. Joseph
teachers! This year’s experiences include once in a lifetime opportunities to go on an adventure to Woodland Park Zoo, Swimming and Burgers, Ceramic Painting, Cougar Mtn. Zoo, just to name a few. Be sure to check out the Teacher Experiences display in the Silent Auction for an experience your child will never forget!
