Introducing the Gaga Ball Pit
Over the summer one of our 2019 8th Grade graduates, Owen Fitzsimmons, approached our school’s leadership team and asked if he could build a Gaga Ball Pit at our Snoqualmie Campus for his Eagle Scout project.
What is Gaga Ball, you ask?
We think the Gaga Center describes it best: “Gaga is a fast paced, high energy sport played in an octagonal pit. The more players the better! Dubbed a kinder gentler version of dodge ball, the game is played with a soft foam ball, and combines the skills of dodging, striking, running, and jumping, while trying to hit opponents with a ball below the knees. Players need to keep moving to avoid getting hit by the ball. Fun and easy, everyone gets a serious workout.”
Owen worked tirelessly to procure the donations and volunteers needed to complete the project before the 2019-20 school year began. Once the pit was complete, Father Todd, Mr. Wenzel, Mrs. Hughes, and others gathered for a blessing and dedication.

All the students at the Snoqualmie Campus have been enjoying the Gaga Pit this year. It has been an awesome source of fun and entertainment during P.E. classes and recess!
All of us at St. Joseph Parish School want to say a big THANK YOU to Owen for all of his hard work! We are truly blessed to have you as part of our school family, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for you.
