My name is Melissa Narvaez and I’m extremely passionate about education.
Growing up you would always catch me reading, researching, and drawing animals. I had this deep-rooted desire to be a veterinarian. My focused change in my early thirties, when my younger brother inspired me to become an educator. Seeing his love for children and dedication to their learning careers, I too was inspired to become a pillar to the success of a child.
Shortly after I began my quest, I attained a position as a paraeducator in a Florida elementary school for two years. It wasn’t until my third year at the elementary school where I acquired a second grade position as a provisional teacher. The following year, I was moved up to third grade as a general education/special education teacher. All four years were extremely beautiful and I had grown tremendously with my students.
This year, I moved from Florida to Washington to finish my Master's degree in education. My motivation is the success of my students. My commitment to education is my driving force in providing the strongest roots to a students tree of success. As a mother, a student, and a teacher, I fully dedicate all my success in life to God because without His continuous love for me, I wouldn’t be who I am today.
I look forward to being a part of the educational team here at Saint Joseph’s and providing your students with the quality education they deserve.
